We have heard from the politicians, we have heard from the pundits, we have heard from the politicians, we have heard from the analysts, we have heard from the politicians, we have heard from the commentators. Now let them hear from
We the People.
We are the ten signers of the appeal we addressed to We the People on Washinton’s Birthday*. We are members of their family, we are their friends and neighbors. We are Americans from all walks of life, of both genders and varied sexual orientations, of all races and ethnicities, of multiple creeds and faiths, who believe that united we stand and divided we may fall prey to the obscenity of Trump.
We have become increasingly distressed by the incompetent malevolence of Donald Trump for the past four years. We are worried by his lies, his refusal to allow any oversight, and wonder what he is hiding from We the People. We fear for our country as we watch Trump debase himself in the presence of autocrats, and attack democratically elected leaders of our long-term allies.
We see the effects of his divisive rehetoric and his destructive acts. We see our environment being ruined by polluters as Trump nullifies measures to protect it, pursuing immediate profit and heedless of long term damage.
We see that our long-cherished institutions have failed. The checks and balances are useless concepts when the officers charged with employing them fail in their duty. We are all victims of Trump’s abject failure to quell the pandemic. As failure piles upon failure, we watch as Trump and his cronies try to subvert our coming election, sowing confusion and doubt. We are afraid for our country, and for We the People. We must act now — no one but ourselves can do the job.

A nation which can prefer disgrace to danger is prepared for a master, and deserves one. - Hamilton

We the People deserve better than Trump’s offerings of lies, failures and frauds. We must restore honesty and integrity to government and will build on them for a better future.
We know we can do better. We hope for an America united in its determination to realize its ideals. We hope for an inclusive America. We hope for an America which meets the needs of We the People, for health care, for economic equity, for equal opportunity, for affordable education, free of the absurd cruelty of racism, and free of baseless discrimination against segments of We the People. We cannot let Trump divide us. We are Americans.
